The first sub unit will be basic drawing skills. Which helps build the whole foundation of a true artist. It introduces kids to fundamental drawing techniques, such as lines, shapes, and shading. We will encourage them to explore different drawing tools and materials, such as pencils, charcoal, and pastels.
Learning colors if very important and helps kids understand more about the color wheel, color mixing, and color theory. Having them experiment with different color combinations using paints, markers, or colored pencils will help them make beatuiful colorful pieces in the future. In class we will use watecolor paints(may need to purchase the watercolors either from me or anywhere!) to overlay different colors making different combinations.Â
kids will learn the art of collage, using various materials such as paper, fabric, and found objects. Encouraging them to create collages based on different themes or concepts. We will ask students to bring some old newspapers or other crafty paper items and will make a fun scrap recyled peice of art. We will also provide some materials!
As the last class for the Unit we will have a fun stamp making session. Kids will create stamps or use oother objects as stamps and make a creative piece of art. kids will learn basic printmaking techniques, also including monoprinting and stenciling. We let them create their own prints using different materials and techniques.
